Cookies, on-device storage and external services

• This site does not use cookies or tags for advertising, analytics or tracking. Simply opening a page does not send your browsing information to any outside company.

  • charat_lang: remembers the language you chose (1 year)
  • PHPSESSID: keeps a temporary state between pages (until you close the browser)
• Characters are made on your own device. Characters in progress, saved characters and settings (such as your agreement to the Terms of Service) are stored in your browser. Clearing the site data in your browser also deletes your saved characters.
• When you use the Showcase or the chat (CHOCO Plaza, etc.), a random number for each browser is used to run the service and to deal with nuisance behavior. This number is never linked to your name or email address.
• To run the site, investigate problems and deal with misuse, the server keeps access records (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, date and time). These records are deleted automatically after about two weeks. However, when needed to investigate a problem or to look into conduct that violates the Terms of Service, the relevant part may be kept.
• Images posted to the Showcase are public in the gallery, and older ones are deleted automatically as new posts come in. A post cannot be withdrawn individually once it is posted. Images stuck on the STORM WALL are public on the wall and remain as a "past wall" after the wall is full. Chat messages are kept on the server only briefly so they can be shown, and older ones disappear as new messages come in.
• The following features exchange information with outside services only when you use them. How each service handles information is governed by its own privacy policy.
  • Buying a High-Quality Download: PayPal or Stripe. Payment details are handled by each provider, and this site never receives your card number or similar information. This site keeps the order number and the purchased image so that you can download it again and so that we can answer inquiries.
  • Contact: Google Forms. What you enter is sent to Google’s service.
  • Share on X: a page on X opens.
  • Make a holo sticker: the image of your character is passed to ORICA (orica.ameniwa.com).
